Assessment tools and questionnaires, within your health record

Android 6.0 - iOS 6.0

Description

A new “Assessment Tools & Questionnaires” section is now available in your Andaman7 health record. Patients and caregivers can easily complete standardized health questionnaires and evaluations directly in the PHR, with results securely shareable through your Circle of Trust or via email.

Why is this important?

Andaman7's new PHR section for patient-driven healthcare questionnaires is significant because it supports decentralized care. It enables patients and healthcare providers (HCPs) to collaboratively evaluate and monitor health using validated tools, outside traditional healthcare settings. For example, a tool based on the WHO’s ICOPE framework for assessing intrinsic capacity.

This fosters patient autonomy and stronger patient-HCP collaboration, enhances communication through secure data sharing with trusted individuals, and enriches health records with questionnaire responses. All while promoting informed care decisions and personalized health management for improved outcomes.

How does it work?

Navigate to the “Assessment tools and questionnaires” section in your own Andaman7 health record or that of the relevant patient. Click the “+” icon to select and complete a questionnaire. Once submitted, you can share the results via email using the unlocked share button.

As a core part of your Andaman7 health record, the “Assessment Tools & Questionnaires” section can be shared with your Circle of Trust as well. Note that in a shared record, anyone with access can start a questionnaire, but only the creator (who clicks the “+”) can complete it, ensuring traceability. This allows caregivers and healthcare providers (HCPs) to also use these tools on behalf of patients, such as children, the elderly, or those with cognitive challenges, supporting effective home monitoring.

Contact us at support@andaman7.com if you’d like to suggest new questionnaires to add to the list.

Where can we see it?

This new section is available in all Andaman7 health records. From the sections’ view, tap the “More sections” tile and look for “Assessment Tools & Questionnaires” in the list.

Predictions for Clinical Research in 2025: What about Andaman7?

You are Forgetting the patient, but you're not alone

Andaman7 founder and CEO, Vincent Keunen explains that current clinical research tools prioritize sponsors over patients, but patients want control of their data via a powerful, private PHR on their smartphone.

I am constantly amused, but most of the time frustrated by all the companies active in clinical research that keep saying that the patient is important. But at the same time, it is obvious that they mainly focus on their own business, which is to execute clinical research.

Yes, in a sense, they work for the patient if they are trying to find new treatments that will benefit them. So, yes, they are working for the patients—but in the long-term. What about the short term?

All the platforms and digital tools I have seen have been built first for clinical research—then add features for patients as an afterthought. Features to simplify the process of the clinical trial. Features to ease the collection of data for the sponsor of the study. Features to motivate the patients to stay in the study.

Migrate your data from Lydia to Andaman7

Hello Lydia users,

We are sorry that Lydia has decided to stop their product.  With this, you may lose all your health data...  But we are here to help. Andaman7 is a free tool to manage your health data in complete control.  It’s free because we want to give back to the community, as part of our social project.  Check the story of our founder at http://bit.ly/a7vkblogen

If the tool is completely free for patients, how do we pay our collaborators?  We get revenue from medical research sponsors that need to run clinical trials for new drugs.  We do not sell data but we sell a tool to access patients.  So you might be invited by your doctor to contribute to clinical research in the future. If you don’t want to, fine - you can continue to use Andaman7 for free and none of your data will be used.  If you want to contribute to research, then you can opt in, and decide to share some of your data for research - only after your explicit consent.

We are a “for patients by patients” project, as we like to say.

So if you want to test Andaman7 and migrate your data from Lydia to Andaman7, please send an email to support+lydia@andaman7.com or fill in the form.

We hope we can help you.  Thank you in advance for your trust in Andaman7.

Android 4.0 - iOS 4.0

Description

We have greatly extended the list of lab tests available based on numerous users’ requests and most common lab tests usually performed.

Do you still have less common lab tests that you want to keep track of and that are not in the list? Don’t worry! This much requested feature is now available in v 4.0: Andaman7 now allows you to add your own lab tests to the list, giving you an even better control over keeping track of your health data.

Phone, mobile application, health application, andaman7, new feature, lab test

Why is this important?

Lab tests are an essential part of medical diagnosis and treatment. They are used to determine the presence, absence, or levels of specific substances in the body, such as hormones, glucose, cholesterol, and more. Lab tests help doctors identify the root cause of an illness, monitor the progression of a medical condition or the effectiveness of a treatment, and even prevent diseases by identifying any risk factors or detecting potential health problems early on.

There are thousands of lab tests, each with its own purpose and clinical significance. The reason for the vast number of lab tests is due to the complex nature of the human body and the need to understand it better. Various substances can be measured in the body, including in blood, urine, saliva, and tissues.

We have added many common lab tests for you to choose from in the application. However we couldn’t add them all and still preserve the app usability. So we developed a new feature to allow you to add additional lab tests that are relevant to your own specific health situation.

How does it work?

  1. Go to the “Lab tests” section,

  2. Click on the add button,

    • iOS: “+ Add new data” button at the bottom
    • Android: “+” button in a green circle at the bottom left
  3. First look in the list for the lab test you want to track

    • Either by typing it in the search bar
    • Or by browsing the list directly (by scrolling)
      • Icons are there to help you identify the sample (e.g. blood, urine,...) in which the element is measured
  4. If the lab test is not in the list, you can add your own by clicking on “Custom analysis” at the bottom of the list

    • Attention! Before creating your own lab test, make sure that it doesn’t yet exist in the list. It is better to use the lab tests from the list if they are available, as it allows you to gather all data from a same lab test on a unique graph in case data comes from several sources (hospital, healthcare professional in your Circle of Trust, yourself,...)
  5. Type the name of your new lab test

  6. Select the type of unit to use for that element. You can look for it by typing in the search bar or by browsing the list directly

    • Selecting the right unit is important for the accuracy of your data! However, some lab tests don’t have any unit (e.g. INR). In that case, you can simply skip that step
  7. Carefully verify that the lab test and unit you want to add is correct. Once created, you cannot modify it!

    • If that is correct, tap the “Confirm” button at the bottom
    • If there is a mistake, you can go back and edit your lab test by clicking on the back button
      • iOS: Back button is located on the upper left
      • Android: Back button is the built-in button of your phone, at the bottom
  8. Add a first value for your lab test

    • It is important to create a first value now so that the newly created lab test is displayed in your list and doesn’t disappear!

Enter your lab test results and keep track of their evolution on graphs!

We are happy to announce the release of version 4 of Andaman7

  • Add your own lab test to the list
We have greatly extended the list of lab tests available based on users’ requests and most common lab tests usually performed. You still have lab tests that don’t appear in the list? Don’t worry! This much requested feature is now available in v4: Andaman7 allows you to add your own lab tests, giving you an even better control over keeping track of your health data.

  • Filter and sort data in the timeline view
This makes it easier for you to find and visualize the health information you need without having to scroll through endless pages of data or look in each separate section of your record.

  • Prescriptions
In the "Medications" section, you can now also add and/or see prescriptions, i.e. medication prescribed by a healthcare professional. Sometimes, the actual medications that you end up taking slightly differ from what was prescribed, so it can be interesting to see both. Prescriptions are also often present in data from your hospital (which you can import via the services tab in the app); now you’ll be able to see them!

  • Medication diary can be shared
In the diary tab of your “Medications” section, you can see the medications you need to take, day by day (after you added “Dosing” information on your medications). You can record your medication intakes for scheduled and on demand drugs. In version 4, this medication diary can be shared with your Circle of Trust. You can then help or get help from your loved ones and healthcare professionals to keep up with your treatment.

  • New service to store links to online documents and accounts
If you regularly connect to an online patient portal or if you have been given a link to an online document (for example a medical imaging test result), you can now store all of these links in Andaman7 for easy access.

  • Data received from health entities: support of additional standard codes and better sorting in the right A7 sections
Did you know that a lot of your digital health data is codified in order to allow for computer systems to “understand” each other? Several sets of “standard codes” exist, and we extended the list of standard codes we support, in order for you to be able to see the data you receive from your hospital in a “human readable” display.

In addition to these new features, we have also made a range of improvements to the user interface:

  • Refreshed look across the application
We've added colors and modernized the look of the app. We've kept the same content for the screens so you don’t get lost in this new version ;)

  • New app onboarding for new users
Simplification of the app onboarding for new users, including for users downloading the app or one of its white label versions for specific services (such as for research purposes). If you want to know more about additional services that can be set in Andaman7, or white-label versions of our app, visit https://www.andaman7.com/en/additional-services or contact us at b2b@andaman7.com.

  • Clearer display of data history and sharing to the CoT (Circle Of Trust)
Sharing of data is very flexible with Andaman7, as we want to allow you to decide exactly what data you share for each record (full record or only parts of it), and with whom. You can also decide whether you want the sharing to be unidirectional (for example, only sending data to others) or bidirectional (also receiving updates from others). Given this flexibility, it can sometimes be a bit complex to figure out the sharing configuration set up. We've improved the display of sharing rules in the CoT to make it clearer and thus easier to understand.

These changes have been made with the goal of providing a more intuitive and user-friendly experience, while also ensuring that our product remains powerful and effective. We hope it will make your experience more efficient and enjoyable.

The latest updates to Andaman7 promise to improve the user experience. With newly supported data (extended list of lab tests, prescriptions,...), data sharing and better data display,… Andaman7 is an even more powerful tool for anyone wishing to take control of their health data.
